was born in Tuttlingen on the Danube in 1925. He studied violin, choir conducting and composing in Trossingen and Cologne. Later he was a lecturer for Acoustic Education at Trossingen Academy of Music and a music teacher at Tuttlingen High School. Moreover he trained and conducted the church choir, the youth choir and the children’s choir.
His main works were oratorio, mass and instrumental music. Since he retired, Burger has been writing more chamber music for a varying number of players. Music schools with young pupils have often requested him to write music for specific age groups for them.
