Edmond J. L. Missa (1861-1920)
The French composer was born on 12th June 1861 in Reims and died on 29th January 1920 in Paris. He studied by J. Massenet at the Academy of Music in Paris and won a second prize for counterpoint and fugue. In 1888 he became a member of the teaching staff of the Academy and was a civil-servant in the Education Department. He was also the organist of the Church of the Holy Thomas of Aquin in Paris.
